Plan a Trip
10+ years ago, I asked a question on a forum: How to plan a trip?
I did not find a satisfactory answer.
Over the years, I traveled and created detailed itineraries.
I still have no answer.
In the past 2 years, I have realized. I asked the wrong question.
It is not about planning. But what do I want to experience from a trip?
What is my objective for this trip?
Taste food, have fun, stay in nature, or learn something in museums.
I don’t know. I never asked explicitly.
I followed what I learnt in my childhood, from trips in tourist groups.
Budget tourist group brings me to as many places as possible, eats on average and stays in 3-star hotels.
My planned trips were similar.
I am not saying this is wrong. Instead, this is working and efficient. If you can, level up the food and hotels.
The question is, does this style suit my objectives? What are my preferences?
When I dig it, I find it is much easier to plan a trip.
